Microsoft Toolkit - Official KMS Solution for Microsoft ProductsNOTE: MTK 2.5 BETA is required to activate Windows 8.1/Server 2012 R2, or Microsoft Office 2013 on those Operating Systems!
This is a set of tools and functions for managing licensing, deploying, and activating Microsoft Office and Windows. All output from these functions is displayed in the Information Console. All functions are run in the background and the GUI is disabled to prevent running multiple functions, as they could conflict or cause damage if run concurrently. The Microsoft Office Setup Customization Functions (Customize Setup Tab), AutoKMS Uninstaller (if AutoKMS is installed), AutoRearm Uninstaller (if AutoRearm is installed), Office Uninstaller and Product Key Checker work even if Microsoft Office or Windows is not installed/supported. For information about individual functions, see the program readme.

murph's note: This one adds a different option (WinDivert) to people trying to self-activate in Win8.1 or 2012r2. While Windivert is not as stable as the TAP adapter, it does give you that extra option if you simply cannot get the tap adapter to work.
CODYQX4 also has been working on the TAP adapter handling a lot and has improved things. One shortcoming of using the TAP adapter is that a lot of lesser VPN programs use tap adapters in the same very-basic way that MTK does, and so sometimes the MTK program will confuse it for an existing MTK tap adapter. If we compile a new version, we would lose the cert. So it's just a pain in the rear all around. You might try renaming any existing tap-driver VPN connections so that you could distinguish between them in the MTK options.
As usual, you should add any MTK to the firewall. It's been reported that AutoKMS will fail the first time it is ran because of the firewall prompt, but then will work correctly after that.
For pre-9600 builds you could simply install KMS server service and click the activate button. They don't require the special tap/windivert adapters to self-activate
